Dear Economic Development Professional, We believe O’Fallon is the best city in the St. Louis Metropolitan Area. O’Fallon embodies small town hospitality and charm, and yet, still offers the excitement of a progressive, rapidly growing city. We are known as a pro-business community with a quality of life that is second to none. This CD is designed to provide you with information about O’Fallon that will assist you in your economic development decisions. O’Fallon is located in the western portion of Southwestern Illinois, 15 minutes from St. Louis, Missouri. The City is comprised of 13 square miles and three interchanges on I-64. Transportation opportunities abound with easy access to I-55, I-70, I-255, I-270 and Mid-America Airport. Goods in transit via truck will reach most major U.S. cities in one day from our central location. For workforce development purposes, nine institutions of higher education are within a 15 minute drive of our city. We are proud of our highly educated workforce with 92.3% of our residents being a high school graduate or higher and 38.7% with a Bachelor’s degree or higher. Our elementary and high schools are known for the excellent education they provide. They offer a variety of sports opportunities, and, of course, the Marching Panther High School Band, one of the top four bands in Illinois with appearances in a majority of holiday parades across the United States. We are very fortunate to have an excellent Public Safety Department. In addition to their regular duties, our police officers serve as School Resource Officers in our schools and actively participate in the community D.A.R.E. program as well as other volunteer programs. Our EMS Department offers highly qualified paramedics and emergency medicine technicians, the best in life-saving equipment, and a rapid response time. O’Fallon citizens and businesses also have access to excellent healthcare in O’Fallon with two clinics and numerous physicians and specialists located here. Additional healthcare facilities providing in-patient care are located within 15 minutes of our city. For family entertainment, our Parks and Recreation Department offers over 100 family programs and numerous special events throughout the year. We have five parks with amenities ranging from bike and walking trails to state of the art children’s playgrounds and picnicking facilities. A Nature Center supporting natural sciences, ecology and environmental sciences and outdoor educational opportunities for all ages is located at Rock Springs Park, and a new 200 acre Family Sports Park is under development that will provide additional green space for the families in our community. In addition to our wonderful park facilities, we also have a 15-screen theatre, a YMCA facility and many more activities for families to enjoy. Churches are the backbone of O’Fallon. All provide a variety of programs that not only minister to their own congregations but also reach out to others in our community. As you can tell, I am proud of O’Fallon. It’s a great place to live and work because we all work together to make it that way. Thank you for taking the time to look at O’Fallon as a possible location for your company.
